Tuesday’s expression of Libra Moon wanting to create a sense of safety and wellbeing and trying to smooth things over at any cost squaring Capricorn Pluto “exposing whatever is rotting in the roots” manifested in terms of me dealing with some behaviour that tested my patience, my equilibrium, and my relationships. As I write this I have not yet contended with some of the things that bothered me from more than one interaction. But so much is already in motion, there is no time to yell “stop, I need time to think about this!” Or “stop! You’ve crossed a boundary.” While I’ve been processing all this we’ve been leading up to an exact square between Uranus & Saturn, and I feel this.
Mercury in retrograde has been testing me and my feelings about others, plain and simple. Wherever in life I was needy and desperate to connect with people, I’m now very much wanting to run away, move away, and hide. There is an inner need to wall myself in-- Cancer Rising is taking over from my 10th house Aries Sun/ Mercury/ SN & 11th house Venus.
On Saturday I made my way by ferry from my home in Victoria Canada to Seattle USA for work. Despite my Cancer Rising, my 10th house Aries Sun requires me to be “on.” But of course I work in the marine industry (Pisces Neptune transit, natal Pisces Mars) where my job is to talk and communicate a computer science solution (Virgo Mercury– going direct thankfully) so I found myself preparing for a long week of peopling.

You are no stranger to the Uranus/ Saturn square and how it’s been working in your year. This is powerful (and likely frustrating) energy that you’ve been working with-- a friction-filled, frustrating fraying of nerves. The theme is old versus new; hierarchy versus societal collective thinking; rigidity versus big, fast change; boundaries versus a big, unexpected erosion of boundaries-- or there being nothing left to protect. Change is traumatic, and often painful. But also; it has blessings. Can you feel for the blessings in all of this?
Capricorn Moon lends itself to the mix with it’s harmonious trining of North Node and simultaneous squaring of Chiron. Our wounds of self are coming up while we just try to survive during all this friction. But all of this is leading us to our future incarnation, as if Capricorn Moon is providing a little nudge forward while it feels as if we have feet in two worlds.
AND...
The Mutable T-square is all about change too. There is no standing in place or “hunkering down” like we did in 2020. Gemini Mars will move the friction out: where is Gemini Mars transiting in your chart? It is the faucet for the energy being created. Perhaps today is a good day to journal? Virgo Mercury is now going forward; carefully and in service of Pisces Neptune’s overlaying compassionate and loving goals. Gemini Mars, distracted at the best of times is likely confused/ drunk/ or has clouded judgement even though perfectionistic Virgo Mercury thinks it knows best. Finally when Capricorn Moon conjuncts Pluto, we see an ending, transformation, or reveal. Secrets are brought into light, and we move forward still, however uncomfortably.

This Aquarian Moon is doing the rounds today trying to free you from whatever holds you in place. This moon is an oddball, it knows how to step outside the box, it knows how to break through. So as it conjuncts Saturn (ancient ruler of Aquarius) and squares Uranus (Modern ruler of Aquarius) there is a visceral and palpable change within. This could be a fundamental thing, a perception thing, or a preference thing, but it will be moved via Mars in Gemini. Whatever makes you “do” today is a clue to what changes are coming for you that you will be working with through Mars’s retrograde through Gemini. Gemini rules our communication and perception, so this interplay between what we think and what we do are the themes we have moving into this next period.

How does your innate sense of balance, beauty and relationship feel today? How do you feel in your most important relationships? Do you feel like they are fair? Do you feel like there is justice in your friendships, your romantic relationships, and your business relationships?
How you feel in these realms will matter today. Libra sun is the apex of the “finger of god” and it’s being held by Chiron’s big wound while it contemplates its future. Pisces Moon is helpful with dreams, mysterious endings, spiritual states, and psychic inklings, but don’t expect clarity or certainty! It’s Pisces Moon combined with future karma North Node that propel you into Libra Sun/ relationshipville. You don’t always want Yoda as a relationship counselor, or lawyer, but here you are. North Node is a receptor, so not really moving, but also lending its non-movement to whatever we’re becoming. Virgo Mercury tries to say the right thing/ do the right thing/ serve, and is helped by transformational and heavy hitting Capricorn Pluto. The right thing might blow things up, or bring it all to a head; but we needed it. This is meant to be happening no matter how crunchy.

With this yod still in place, it might mean that you get somewhere with all this contemplation? Or maybe you’ve continued to wonder WTF? It’s ok, you’re getting a scrub-down as you head for this full moon, there is a point to all this-- that you’ll be able to understand when you read your journal a year from now. But hey, you are a tumbled jewel and right now- and you’re still in the tumble. There is a fever point to the yod and it passes quickly.
But also, there is this mutable T-square which has been reigning over us all week. Mutability points us to change and letting go. There is a tension between our world perception and communication that is trying so hard to be impeccable, accurate, and perfect; and Neptune’s illusive but lofty wishes for universal love and compassion. This tension is between our emotional fields and worldly reality. It’s further triggered in the body by Moon, expect that the emotion might come fast and confusing. The avenue for this energy is action through Gemini Mars. Hopefully Virgo Mercury can direct this Mars a bit, and take it out for some physical exercise, or a mad scribble in a journal. Or save it for a very sympathetic ear. If you feel “all over the place” that is because you are! Gemini Mars will search for every single solution! Pick one follow it for a while, see where you end up!
Saturday October 8th
Pisces Moon opposes Virgo Mercury @ 27 degrees
Aries Moon conjunct Jupiter @ 2 degrees
We’re still in that opposition from yesterday. Pisces Moon, which is highly intuitive and psychic, and Virgo Mercury, which wants to do the right thing, in the right way, perfectly.
As that energy moves, Aries Moon brings an explosively childlike emotional field, which is great for its conjunction with Jupiter. Jupiter’s motto is “more is more” so if we can find and tend our inner children today, there may be much to learn about ourselves, and our beliefs about ourselves in the world. If our inner children and sense of identity needs serious attention, Moon will let us know, and this could mean a bigger tantrum than we intended. Remember, sometimes tantrums show up in our bodies as pain, as inflammation, as accidents. Pay attention to your body and what it’s telling you.
Sunday October 9th
Aries Moon opposes Libra Venus @ 12 degrees
Aries Moon conjuncts Chiron @ 14 degrees
Full Moon in Aries @ 16 degrees (conjunct Chiron @ 14 degrees, opposing Venus @ 13 degrees)
After that week we get this full Moon. A crescendo! As I write this I wonder how it’s going to play. Full Moons are high emotional points and the big reveal. There is a big theme here between self and other. Aries Moon opposes Libra Venus, and of course Libra Sun. Aries Moon is about us in our body, and our instinctual reactions. Think about a 2 year old screaming “mine!” Libra Venus derives pleasure and connection from fairness, equality, and balance. Libra Sun derives energy from it.
So then there’s this conjunction with Chiron. A wounding. This can be a little trigger or a big one. And then the full Moon revealing what it’s all about. Will it hurt? Maybe? Will it heal? Probably. Will it reveal? Definitely.
