Boy does this week has some big plays for us. And that full Moon on Saturday the 12th gave us some big lessons and reconciliations. As a Moon-ruled human, I went through some very physical manifestations of the mounting energy, and it felt very heavy. It was echoing something that had happened a year ago during eclipse season, and made a final bookend to a story that’s been playing out for a while. It wasn’t as much an ending as a conclusion. It was glorious, but it wore me out. There is still a denouement afoot, but we have bigger fish to fry for the rest of April, and some uncomfortable energy to contend with. Here are the timestamps:

We are in process. We haven’t come out the end of this change. And some of us barely recognize ourselves.
I woke up one day last week to the existential thought that “I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing.”
That’s always been true, but last week is profoundly and potently true, and clear to me, that I had no compass or direction that I could buy into. I have my core values--my integrity, and my internal compass of who I am. But I don’t know where that person is going. I used to think I was going somewhere in particular, and it changed directions a lot.
But then last year happened– and then it was all just about surviving, and then last week I thought “what’s the plan here?” That’s as succinct as I can make it.
I’m in process. How about you?
Tuesday April 15th has Mercury re-entering Aries and going over old ground. This is raw, unfiltered thought and communication. It’s quick, blunt, to the point. There’s potential for clarity and truth, courage and inspiration, but there’s also potential for fighting words, saying too much, indelicacy and selfishness. The Neptune influence will have us dreaming big, and creatively flowing, but don’t trust everything you read. Just because you thought it doesn’t mean it’s been fact checked. Mars, Aries’ ruler--is trining this action from the anaretic degree of Cancer, and that’s a big deal too. The urgent degree of any sign gives a heavy handed flavor, and Mars in Cancer has called in to us what we want, what feels safe to want, what feels like home and family, and where our energy will direct. This beneficial influence with this ingress, however out-of-sign, bestows some emotional intelligence to Mercury’s cerebral rush.
There’s a lot to contend with through archetypal masculine and feminine energy here. There is deep creative power and raw emergence of thoughts and ideas. There’s a need for birthing and for safety.
This is a very shimmering soup of energy fire and water, and by Wednesday April 16th Mercury will go exactly conjunct with Neptune, the great creatrix and ender of the game. Neptune is vast and infinite, and plunges into the deep. Mercury is usually not so deep, and more aware/ready to move/ ready to dip, dive, and change teams. This is a creative place. Martin Luther King had Mercury conjunct Neptune in his natal chart in Sagittarius. And did MLK ever have a dream….
This dream, in Aries, is a rebirth. What are you ready to reimagine and make into existence? Are you staring at part of your life that is in ruins but there are parts you can use to make this new thing? What can emerge in this new way of thinking and dreaming for BETTER?
On Thursday April 17th, Mars retraces his steps forward into Leo. This is HUGE for us for many reasons. And trust: you’ve been feeling this energy coming. It was December 6th 2024 that Mars went retrograde at 6 degrees of Leo, and it backtracked through Cancer until February 22nd 2025. Outside of that framework, Mars has done some oppositions with Pluto. We’re back to that, this tension between action and power, and power dynamics, but we’re in the 3rd act of the story. It’s coming.
This is a year to get to know your Mars: your desire, your will, your action, your thrust. This is a year to get to know your masculine energy, which everyone can claim and port into. And when I say masculine, I mean the beautiful divine energy of such a thing, and nothing as laid out in the capitalist/ patriarchal/ gross cliches of masculine. It sucks that masculinity has become a bad word, and something I have to over explain, but ultimately, that’s the point. All of us have this archetype within us, whether we choose to call into it or not, and it’s a beautiful, necessary, and glorious energy. It’s also prone to a shadow expression. Our Mars is how we do ourselves in the world. It’s how we initiate.
Mars in Leo will be proud and ready to lead. It knows better what its heart wants. So you might have a strong desire and impulse to sustain a fire somewhere. This shift will feel imperative, but there is also that Plutoian counterpoint in Aquarius, asking us to do what’s best for the collective. There will be drama, likely. And there will be another reminder of that powershift that started in November of last year. We get our 3rd hit soon, with this mounting opposition. More on this story next week.
Saturday April 19th has the Sun moving into Taurus, to bring a spotlight on our steady, hardworking, earthy, reality-based selves. This is Venusian Gaia energy coming into play, and its ingress makes a T-square with our friend Mars, newly coiffed in Leo, opposite rebellious Pluto in Aquarius. This is a stubborn trio of energy, and it definitely has masculine overtones (again, I use this word with care and love) and all of us will feel this energy within and without. T squares create frustrations, and I think a fixed T square carries a real grindy feeling to it. It’s a fine chisel of effort, the sound is unpleasant. We are going to have to get really clear on something involving desire, will, power, initiation, revelation, and destruction: and the mechanism of this tension is our own consciousness. This T square is closing down that story I spoke of that started in November. This T square will ask us to deal with reality, and what’s in front of us, what must be sustained, and what makes us uncomfortable.
Leo Mars is making a beneficial trine with Aries Neptune while this all goes down, so inspiration and visionary dreaming is on the menu. Fire trines bring spiritual revelations and innovations. Artists and creatives can go wild with this vibe. Let’s hope world leaders take the day off from making financial decisions, this energy is bold, but it’s prone to being deluded.
On Sunday April 20th, Moon joins the T-square party by conjuncting Pluto, so we will have some feminine body principle porting into our masculine recalibration with power. This is some juju to work with. Moon works on our emotional body, Pluto reveals what’s buried, Mars directs energy, and Sun is our consciousness of what is. We are excavating something, and we are going to have to work on it. Our body's might manifest a reaction.
There is a LOT of beneficial energy supporting this tough frustrating traffic jam. There has been an upset of the balance of power, and there has been a change in what is wanted. We have back tracked through the depths of the oceans to find out what, if anything, we were bringing forward into our future. We are clawing our way to shore, wet and tired and we are born at the edge of this bay. We haven’t dried off, or figured out how to find shelter yet.
The astrology is asking us to get clear on something, and it will confront us with what we need to do it. Be kind, be smart, be in integrity. Be the best you can be, and don’t worry if that isn’t perfect. We have miles to go before we sleep.
With love
