Astrology Transits for July 12-22nd: At Least You Know You Are ALIVE!!

Fam! it’s been a while since I’ve written, and so much has happened up there in the sky. We are knee-deep in emotional, home-bound, Cancer season. Venus AND Uranus sashayed, and cannonballed respectively-- into Gemini, and we had a Full Moon in Capricorn. Uranus in Gemini is one big change after 7 of years of residency in Taurus, messing with our financial circuitry, food security, sense of rootedness, real-world work and reward, overall comfort and innovating all these things in the process. So there’s a vibe shift, with the planet of change in a sign of grey area, socializing, written and spoken communication, media, questioning, mental stimulation, debate, and curiosity.
We are all recalibrating best we can.
Things have changed drastically for us this year and will continue on this trajectory. We are collectively reassessing our homes, borders, sense of place, authenticity, and identity.
Personally I’ve felt absolutely directionless for the last couple years, which is exceedingly uncomfortable for an Aries Sun/ Virgo Moon. When I lost my faith in the plan/ intentions/ goals/ ambitions, I found myself following signs instead. Living life in receptivity can be highly pleasurable when the answers and signs come easy and you have the peace and space to see. Not so much when you are crawling out of your skin needing to make a move and not knowing where to go.
Uranus will bestow plenty of change on us, in the next coming years, so no need to worry about being stuck.
We will need our inner resources, critical thinking, and groundedness for this trip. There will be lots of words, convincing arguments, ideological choreography masking as TRUTH, and campaigns. There will be words spoken, but remember to watch the behavior. Gemini will say anything that makes sense at the moment, and then say the opposite if it makes sense at another moment. Gemini revels in duality, in questions with no answer. Gemini likes the light and the dark and will invite them both to the same dinner party to see what happens.
Remember this often, and recognize yourself being baited into conversations, arguments, narratives, and dramas that are not your own. We are approaching Leo season after all.

On Saturday July 12th, Saturn will station retrograde. The day that a planet stations retrograde is notable, because there is that shift thing going on, when something expressing outwardly will shift to an inward expression. Saturn is the grandfather/ elder principle and he is somewhat uncomfortable in the sign of the baby. Saturn is slow, Aries is fast, Saturn works hard, Aries plays hard. But Saturn in Aries has been making us all pay attention to our integrity. Personally, I’ve been really contending with my integrity with myself. My commitments to myself are the ones I easily break, and Saturn is delivering me lessons on responsibility and commitment to my authentic self. This is beyond reparenting, its a major buzzkill. Probably we are all facing something similar- how do we really back up the self inside of us? Where are our boundaries too rigid, or too flimsy? What part of us are we unwilling to change, grow, or nurture?
There is an added layer to this, because Saturn is stationed retrograde pretty close to Neptune in Aries, which went retrograde on July 4th. Neptune is another heavy-hitting/ slow moving planet that dissolves and cleanses in very confusing ways. It brings spirituality, altered states, dreams, poetry, dissolution, endings, victims, martyrs, and perpetrators into the energy. Pisces is big feels, illusions, and intuition, so there’s some real chaos brewing beneath Saturn’s serious intentions. There’s a minor triangle, in fact, forming with the outer planets: Pluto in Aquarius, Uranus in Gemini, and Saturn and Neptune in Aries. All but Uranus are currently retrograde. This is beneficial and focused energy supporting us on our personal journeys. We are being asked to know ourselves, our boundaries, our compassion, and our work in order to be the change in the world.

On Thursday July 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in Leo until August 11th. We will have to rethink the way we lead, the drama we embroil ourselves in and potentially we’ll want to re-examine how we are seen. There’s potential for misunderstanding and miscommunication during this time. It’s a good time to double check your work and take extra time with your steps. This energy can be harnessed to finish old projects.
On Saturday July 19th, Cancer Sun squares Aries Chiron to make conscious something about our wounds, our healing, and how that affects our sense of safety, belonging, or creativity. This is a cardinal square which means there is an initiatory vibe on this day, and it likely hurts a little or a lot.
I have probably referenced Caz, my movement teacher in university, who was Polish and cut the filters off the cigarettes he smoked. Whenever anyone hurt themselves in tumbling, he would say “See! At least you know you are ALIVE!!” in a somewhat irritated voice.
The frustration in whatever triggers the wound is somehow going to make us move, so there’s a point here, but some of us will feel protective, defensive, or homebound. Mother and motherhood issues may come up.
Sunday July 20th has Mars conjunct the South Node in Virgo, which is opposite the North Node in Pisces. With Mars at the tail of the dragon, there is a decreasing and undoing of old karmic pattern involving compartmentalizing, order, pulling apart, analyzing and perfectionism. Anger, desire, and fire will bring this moment to the fray as there is a T-square forming with Venus in Gemini here, this mutable formation is looking at your karmic desires and values, and how you are changing. This day is going to have passion, communication, and hopefully some motion. There could be romance, but there could be arguments. Someone might have to let go of something in order to bring harmony.
Thursday July 22nd ushers in Leo season.
Where the Sun is king. Sun is applying an opposition to Pluto in Aquarius, and making a trine Saturn and Neptune in Aries, so we are going to feel the flames. This is some kind of entrance.
Sun is our consciousness, and we humans tend to do enjoy the sunshine. Leo season will bring us fabulous hair, spotlights, drama, and divas. But Leo is also heart. Leo is brave and and will stick it's neck out and be the one to say the thing that needs to be said.
This Leo season will bring out many leaders, and hopefully some of them are good ones, because we really need good leadership right now. The opposition to Pluto suggests that there will be a fight for power, for all of us. Leo is proud, and wants to be seen. Our attention is important. Remember Mercury is backtracking through Leo as the Sun enters it so we will be rethinking, misunderstanding, and going over the fine points of things.
Sun will sextile Uranus in Gemini the same day, to show us some of that Uranian spirit out of the gate. We experience this collectively and personally, it will be interesting to note what gets revealed, since there's no way to prepare. Personally-- Uranus has taken me on some hikes that are way beyond my skill set or fitness level. Uranus will never ask if you are ready, he will only assume that you are. He won’t guide you gently through the forest; he will bring you in on a horse, drop you off, and leave you there alone. Once you have your harrowing adventure, Uranus will then show you one of the biggest secrets of the universe, and you'll spend the rest of your life trying to make sense of it.
Leo season-- this year--asks us to be the kind of leader who has humility and grace, who isn’t scared to admit that they don’t know the answer, or direction. Gemini Uranus is going to test our ability understand truth, propaganda, marketing, and rumours. The word is currency for these next 7 years, and we better get used to knowing what TRUTH is, in our bodies and internally, especially. People will say anything to convince you of anything. Our brains love a nice narrative even if it’s a lie, as long as it keeps us in the status quo. Beware of propaganda posing as information. Beware of stories that make you the hero or victim. You have a compass but you are not used to trusting it, regulating it, or caring for it. It's OK we are all learning together.

Explore your authentic self.
Face that self.
Know what is true in your body and soul. As changes unfold in front you, it will serve you well to know who you are; and what you stand for.
You may have been called into a role that you don’t feel prepared for; that you didn’t want, need or ask for.
Trust that you have been preparing, all your life. The creation of who you are has been very important-vital even– for what comes down the pipe in these next few months. We decide what happens next.
Leo season asks us to lean in to the unfolding drama because the show must go on. Hilarity ensues.
