Astrology Transits for March 16-22nd: We Are at the End of Pisces Season

Hello hello!
How do you fare in the belly of this eclipse season? Are you noticing a change of energy, more intensity forcing you to contend with something? A release of something or someone, or your more tightly wound tendencies.
I am Moon ruled, so eclipses are very loud for me, and my Moon is in Virgo, so this past eclipse (one of a series headed into 2027) brought up big confrontations regarding my self critical nature and perfectionist tendencies. Mercury retrograde ruled that eclipse, so already I (and most of us) was in deep self excavation on a physical and nervous system level. For those of us that wrestle with anxiety, this can cause overwhelm, burnout, and defeat. But within that we are releasing something. We are letting go of something deeply clenched within. And it hurts to let go of something you’ve been holding onto for a long time.
To have both Mercury and Venus retrograde in Aries right now at the same time–in an eclipse portal– is some intense energy of self and identity inquiry. This isn’t a great time to come to a conclusion, about anything. This eclipse, and these retrogrades: they are a process. They are designed with a story arc. You are in it, but it’s too soon to gamble on how this plays out. You gotta live through this.
This year, in terms of tarot is a Hermit year, collectively speaking; your personal year may differ. The Hermit is all alone on a very long journey, there are many stairs to climb in the dark, lit only by a small light. All Hermit can see is a few steps in front; and has no idea where he is going. The Hermit is led by Virgo incidentally enough, and the medicine of the card is SLOW. There is no rushing Hermit medicine, steps and progress is made incrementally, and without a clear picture of the end of the journey. One day the Hermit will get there, but much of the inner work will be fortified. The journey is the lesson, the lesson is slow, and there is no one to point in the right direction. Are any of you feeling this? I sure am.
We are at the end of Pisces season, or so it seems. There is something to wrap up in the sign of dreams, porous one-ness, oceanic magnitudes and dissolution. And this wrap up is going to take a while with Venus and Mercury heading back to the void. Timestamps below:

On Wednesday March 19th we have a conjunction between the Sun and Neptune at the most critical degree of Pisces: 29 degrees. This position is all about our dream for the future and becoming what we dream. It deals with our projections or becoming projections for others, and it speaks to what we manifest, what we are rooted in, and centres us in the truth of what we want and why we want it.
This is bringing into consciousness something from the deep. This is a deep dive into what’s buried in that shipwreck. Neptune is a planet that creates mystery, illusion, and delusion. Something might come to the light of consciousness, but something can also be hidden or buried. How well do you know yourself? You have the potential to fall deeper into the illusion or bring something big into the light. What are you trying not to face or let go of? What are you ready to leave at the bottom of the ocean?
This conjunction happens at the North Node- so there is a fated quality to this day. And it’s also loosely conjunct Saturn, which will keep us on task, and hold us to our responsibilities. This energy could feel like a reckoning or a red carpet. It could be the beginning of a downfall, or a beautiful dream.
On Thursday March 20th we will feel an energy shift as the Sun enters Aries bringing the count to 4 planet in the beginning of the zodiacal wheel. There will be some natural pep in our step, some fire in our bellies, and some call to the wild. This vibe will be faster, and more of a taskmaster than the Pisces ocean. Aries season moves us. The Sun is exalted in Aries, and sits on a throne, according to the ancients. The light of consciousness burns bright here, and the Sun is conjunct Venus and Mercury in this moment while a square mounts between Cancer Mars (the ruler of Aries) and Chiron in Aries. This dynamic suggests there is healing coming in concurrently with this annum’s inauguration. There is some watery and emotional support through the month with this water Mars and within the Piscean water.
Whatever new world we build, we need water. We need our emotional health and experience to be unpacked and cleansed, not lurking in the background to undermine and drown us. Fire and water make steam and there is a lot of propulsion in steam.
On Friday March 21st Venus rx makes a perfect sextile to Pluto in Aquarius, making us more likely more aware of the truth about someone or something. This is a boon, and whatever breakthrough comes, there may be shattered pieces that bring it through. We might learn something about our social constructs, friends, or deepest connections. We might have to contend with something internal regarding this energy.
The Moon will be touring Sagittarius and squaring Saturn, North Node, and Neptune in Pisces, to put us in touch with our emotional response to change, and what we idealize, but Mars in Cancer is trining these same planets to put us in touch with what is safe emotionally to want and put action into. Whatever waffling we’ve been doing might give way to a path and clear directive.
There is speed and inertia interplaying in this astro weather. We are being slowed down and our emotions are not fading into the background, they are heating up, and so is our idealism. Whatever we are trying to escape is not letting us go, and yet we are on a long leash. We are tethered to our purpose even if it’s not clear what that is. All in good time, my child.
