Astrology Transits for October 6th-14th: The Planets Are Asking Us To Do Better

October blessings! We made it through eclipse seasons, which was tough, dramatic, or revealing for many of us. How did it affect you?
Did anything change the game for you?
For me, my finances got even more challenging than they have been all year, and yet despite this, I found myself also with a sweet new ride! I need a vehicle to live where I live-- after mine died in the middle of the highway a few months ago. This is a strange payoff– I have all the stress and pressure to make ends meet, but I also have a vehicle that I can depend on and that I know is working for me. So I’m full of gratitude and growing faith, despite the fact that so much feels that it is really NOT working out. Part of this astrology’s signature right now is a feeling of what’s next? It’s clear that we are on our way somewhere, but we don’t know where.
I have tremendous guilt about what is happening in Gaza, and other places in the world, and I feel like I’m not the best global citizen. I want to do more for the First Nations people of Canada than I have these last few years. On general: I want to do more, give more, and be more. Unfortunately, my body is also crapping out. I have tendonitis in my foot, and a lot of fatigue these days. I have grandiose ideas for my time that keep devolving into naps and early bed times. I’m not getting the exercise I need, I’m not making headway forward, and I’m not saving the world either. What am I even doing?
I know my sentiments are shared by many others, as this has been a predominant theme for 2025. Many of us feel like we’re severely underachieving in a way. Many of us feel paralyzed and absolutely shattered at the cruelty in the world right now. Many of us feel, for lack of a better word: useless. We are not useless. I asked the tarot what the vibe is for this writing and it told me: The Fool. We are a seed of pure potentiality, and all the stress that comes with that. We don’t know where we are headed, and we don’t even know what we’re supposed to do yet. We just know that we can’t live in a world like this, we cannot continue to build a world where such injustice; such horrific acts–can be carried out and justified. Here are the timestamps.

Monday October 6th is a big day. We’ve got Mercury ingressing into Scorpio and a Full Aries Moon. Mercury in Scorpio is going to be a quieter, more private, and focused way of communicating. It's also more direct and decisive than it was in Libra. Mercury– here– will be investigative, focused, and driven in thought and communication, and we will be choosing our words more carefully, and potentially getting obsessive on a topic and getting deep into learning something. For myself, I am starting a course of astrological study that I’ve wanted to learn for a few years now, and it’s very technical. This is fitting for Scorpio Mercury. Going deep, deep underground in what we learn about, especially in psychological, sexual, taboo, and occult topics.
The Full Aries Moon culminates and manifests a cycle that started at the Aries New Moon– which happened on March 29th– and was part of an eclipse series. This Full Aries Moon features several oppositions in addition to the Sun and Moon, with Scorpio Mercury separating from an Aries Chiron opposition, and Venus applying opposition to Saturn and separating from an opposition to the North Node in Pisces. This suggests that there will be frustration in relationships to balance, questions of justice and authenticity, of connection versus boundaries and work.
The Aries Full Moon-- it's about authenticity and integrity in relationships and the work you did to be yourself since that New Moon in March. It's about your self and how you nurture it in relationships. Do you absorb into others? Do you stay quiet in order to avoid rocking the boat? Or have you been focused on yourself maybe a little too much lately, and ignoring the needs and feelings about those around you? If we go through a hard time, sometimes we forget about others' needs or situations, and find ourselves in a loop of self obsession, so no shade if this is the case. But this Full Moon will show us the sum total of our "self" in relationship.
The ongoing minor triangle with the outer planets–all RX– still apexes at Neptune RX in Aries, and the ruler of this Full Moon is Mars in Scorpio, where it is in domicile, and incredibly powerful, focused, and knows what it wants. We will all be powerful in our personal identities. Emotionally– we should all guard against tantrums, and focus more on what we want and what our vision is. This will hold us better than fighting it out. A yod is apexed at Scorpio Mercury that is formed with a sextile between Gemini Uranus RX and Aries Neptune RX, suggesting that the way we communicate is going to really matter on this day, and choosing our words carefully is what will bring us higher. Using words that cut: not so high. Despite the emotional nature of this energy, you are best to focus on the right words at the right time, potentially hiding or holding close your motives.
On Tuesday, October 7th, Scorpio Mercury makes a square to Aquarius Pluto, while maintaining its place at the apex of the yod. It also makes an opposition to the Moon as it slides from Aries into Taurus. This creates a T square with Aquarius Pluto RX at the apex, making this energy transformatively destructive, or potentially revealing. Pluto rules this Mercury, so there is some reception in this T square, thankfully. The theme of holding close our words remains important today, as Pluto likes us to start composting what doesn’t work faster–usually–than we are ready to let it go.
You’ll feel the tension mounting between Virgo Venus and Pisces Saturn RX all week, but it goes exact on Saturday October 11th. Saturn is boundaries, austerity, and work, and Venus in Virgo cares about what is important, essential, and can come across as a little critical. Virgo Venus does not concern itself with flashy shows of love, but this is the energy of serving on a deeper level. Oppositions usually play out in relationship issues, where we adopt the role of one of the planets. Pisces Saturn RX takes its time, and doesn’t rush into anything, and with this backward motion, more work is definitely on the menu.
On Monday October 13th, Venus moves into her home sign of Libra, and in so doing makes a grand air trine that provides the basis for the kite that works with the minor triangle I mentioned earlier. Kites provide lots of fated conditions (along with some challenges) to take us higher. With Venus, Uranus RX, and Pluto RX we can expect some big moves in terms of justice and fairness on this planet. Surprises and revelations will start to show us our own personal pact of negotiation and mediation. We are truly being lifted higher, and that processes might feel reasonable and intellectually obvious, but that doesn’t mean that it will feel good. We do usually enjoy Venus in Libra for the sake of finances and romantic relationships, but Venus here can also highlight where we are unbalanced.
On Tuesday October 14th, Pluto goes direct in Aquarius. The days that a planet stations either retrograde or direct are the ones where this transit is most felt, and therefore we might have a Pluto experience today in the area of our chart that Aquarius rules. We might struggle with power or fear; there are a lot of social group issues popping off right now. I know many people– myself included– who have found themselves kicked out of the village socially, at work, online, and in organizations they have helped build. This is one of the most primal fears within us; being kicked out of the village, in the old days, was a question of survival. Arguably it still is.
This idea of what “the group” is and the power it holds is a hot topic right now as we become more and more polarized politically. Be mindful of righteousness, and who you are willing to turn your back on.

Witches, mystics, intuitives, entire races of people– historically have found themselves on the outside looking in, and that wound becomes their power; eventually. I'm not romanticizing what colonialism continues to do to those who did not benefit from it. We have so much to learn from these worldviews of the marginalized. There are entire bodies of teaching and knowledge on how to deal with many of the issues we face (and created.) Somehow, under unthinkable conditions people survive the unimaginable. Once a person or people have already been othered, they don’t have to play by those rules anymore. While they may be fighting for survival in many cases, they can watch “the group” self-destruct while continuing to live by their integrity. Or they can plan fierce and destructive revenge if they harbour the anger.

We see this playing out politically, socially, personally, online– in all kinds of ways right now. The planets ARE asking us to do better.
With Venus at 0 degree Libra, we have a pretty perfect opposition to Aries Neptune RX, and that air trine I mentioned earlier. This is a pretty solid kite that asks us to provide a vision of integrity. There is a lot of supportive energy coming through here, but it’s up to us how much we learn or advance. The messages coming down the astrological pipe want us to fight for this world and make it better. They want us to do what is just, what is right, and they want us to put our back into it. Now is the time to hold yourself to a higher standard, my friends. The old world is dying. You have the opportunity to build something better, something that works.
