Astrology Transits for September 15th-21st: We are Cognitively Flying Through the Universe at Lightning Speed

How’s the eclipse portal going for you? Are we having fun yet? We are well in the belly of the beast right now, with the New Moon eclipse coming on Sunday. The vibe-- for myself and quite a few people I know-- involves unexpected or random health issues, thwarted initiatives, letting go of rituals or plans. An undoing of sorts. I’ve been incredibly tired, but also clear headed, decisive, and determined. I do feel guided. But I don’t feel ready. Maybe you never feel ready?
This astrology is not child’s play. We are all upleveling and that means we will all have to take greater responsibility for the world we live in, and the world that we create. There will be no more blaming Trump, Americans, Republicans, vaccines, our partners, our children. We need to start having the right conversation-- and that one goes back way deeper than all that. Pluto is in Aquarius and Aquarius bestows distributed power. The power shift is felt everywhere. We are looking at the last vestiges of hierarchy, and the destruction that is created when eras change.
There is a kite formation for the next 2 weeks that will lift us all higher, and it will bring a dynamic tension and boost in the direction of where Neptune (making an out-of-sign conjunction with Saturn in Pisces) brings its deep vision, artistry, confusion, and delusion. This will oppose the recently conjunct Sun and Mercury in Virgo, who are on their way to the eclipse degree of 29. There is some big work being done in the collective vision, and individually we are all a cow in the tornado. There is nothing gentle about the 29th degree or its work. Here are the timestamps:

On Monday 15th Leo Venus made a sextile to Libra Mars-- so couples and relationships were blessed, money changed hands, attachment and attraction was charged. There was luck and a boost on this day, and the kite that is taking us to a vision of our identity started to form. For myself-- some big things have been happening that don’t make much sense, but in a suspiciously seeing these things as positive with great trepidation way. My circumstances-- personally-- around all this (potentially) good fortune feel pretty austere, yet the signs of change are everywhere. Let this be a backdrop to how we move forward.
On Tuesday 16th we had both Leo Venus, and Libra Mars make aspects to Aries Chiron; with Venus making a trine, which is very supportive energy. This bestowed healing, leadership, and connection as favored with the dynamic relationship tension of Mars making an opposition to Chiron. Opposition breeds friction, but oppositions are represented by relationships. And Mars rules the sign that Chiron is in making this a bit more agreeable. I feel a call for the wounding and healing of the divine masculine and we will all start to open this Pandora's box collectively, and personally.
If something is mystically really coming together right now for you– what is it? This is a breadcrumb as to something that you are moving towards. But there is some forms of trigger all wrapped up in this lucky deal, and that is Chiron. You-- my dear friends-- get this opportunity to do some healing in all of this. It’s a good time to notice the “divine masculine” energy around you, and within you.
On Wednesday 17th Virgo Mercury opposed Saturn in Pisces, which gave us some spiritual lessons and work to contend with when our minds are on steroids and we are cognitively flying through the universe at lightning speed. Mercury is at home in Virgo and has an analytical and overthinking quality, that is very useful for science, and going down wormholes, and learning. Saturn in Pisces (along with Neptune in Aries) dishes out some late stage lessons that are designed to bring us out of our delusion and into our mastery, to manifest the real vision, and keep finding out what is truly deep enough for our souls. Whatever tension occurred today is dynamic, and it’s important. It’s part of your work, the new work you are headed to– in your new life. Did you release something around the 15th? did something heavy sink to the bottom? What remains?
On Thursday September 18th, it’s all about Mercury who enters Libra, then steps into the role it makes in the kite by completing a grand air trine with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. This is some inspired, inventive, divine intervention, high mind vibes, and this is a core energy of this kite. This is a good time to write, create with words, ideate, negotiate, mediate, and persuade. The opposition with Libra Mercury and Aries Neptune is now air/fire, there will be a dynamic spark created here both in the collective and in our personal lives. There is some vision, dream, ideal, delusion, or myth emerging and being born here, and it goes to the core of our identity. If you have the need to redefine or reconsider your core drivers, this is a good time to imagine and innovate.
On Friday September 19th both the Moon and Venus ingress into Virgo-- together--and become the apex of a yod that has been created with both Aquarius Pluto and Aries Neptune in a sexile. Outer forces will be at play with this dynamic; which will affect us greatly on an emotional level, and in our relationships-- and hitting us in our values. Yods are the finger of god, and they point to something significant in how we transmute the energy of not understanding or relating. They can be extremely painful for the uninitiated but they grow into a superpower, and we all get touched by this yod for a day or so. Pay attention to your body, your feelings, and your values. Pay attention to your health, your essentials– like your desert island musts.
On Saturday September 20th Venus in Virgo squares Uranus in Gemini. This is a bit more interesting because Mercury,--the star of yesterday’s astro-weather-- is the ruler of this whole square, so again cognition, understanding, surprise epiphanies, big creative and innovative thoughts and all of that pertaining to communication-- is all on the menu. Venus in Virgo will make it a bit more austere than our usual Venus, but this Venus cares about the core values and is in service. This Venus cares and shows up when it matters-- and it also judges you when you don’t. So there’s this buzz about what is brewing in the collective-- and that’s affecting how we all ambulate in words and worlds.
As you can see-- just by these rudimentary descriptions-- we are headed towards something, clear as day. But obscured in marketing, big-talker visions, and our own collective trauma. We have all been doing our parts to let go of some deep shrapnel. My body is so tired, and I feel so drained and in need of draining; but this is the experience of a fiery and watery chart that had the light go out in it a while back. It’s hard to relight at the bottom of the ocean. And yet, we are still stoking that fire and carrying on.
On Sunday 21st we have the Solar (New Moon) Eclipse in Virgo, and this action takes place in the most urgent (29th) degree of Virgo. This is a sacred genesis point that asks us not for more but less. Be the newborn baby, perfect in just being, just existing. Take a day off of striving to be or do anything, and spend a moment thinking about how, what, and who you serve, if you must contemplate anything at all. Rest and rejuvenation, ease and lightness; are beautiful ways to move forward from an eclipse that occurs directly opposite Saturn in Pisces. Saturn is our taskmaster, our work, and our teacher. Saturn is like an old grandpa that doesn’t buy our bullshit. Saturn wants us to grow up and be better so he’s hard on us. Nothing comes easy with Saturn. This eclipse has-- embedded within it-- a deep spiritual commitment to your work, whatever that work may be. Your work may or may not be something you get paid well (or at all) for, but it is something indistinguishable from you. It is your calling, your mission, your undeniable pull to be better, more committed and more responsible.
This solar eclipse is a new beginning, and it’s got lots of energy surrounding it. This is not the time to over-do it at all. If you find yourself doing spiritual work of some sort, this would be a natural way to cap off this portal, which will be in play for the next 6 months or so.
This is not the only thing going on, I’m afraid. There’s more spice coming for this soup, and that is in the form of an applying square between Mars and Pluto. This is a cyclical development from the Mars/Pluto oppositions at the end of last year and in early 2025, and these came with some drama. Squares are less theatrical than oppositions, but they are something that I wince about. Let’s get through this week first, how about?
