Astrology Transits for September 7th-15th: These Moments Are Felt Collectively.

Dale Cooper enjoys cherry pie and coffee.
That cherry pie looks evil, just saying.

We are already into fall, it seems by the way the air has crispened and how much more pleasant is to walk outside after work. I’m trying to get my body moving after a period of inactivity, this is classic Virgo season fodder. Virgo is the sign of health and routine, and boy do I ever need to get back on train.

This– and all the other circumstances of adulthood– has made it hard for me to do Planetary Action Reports with the regularity I would like, but here I am! After the first eclipse of this potent month and eclipse portal. So much has happened in September already– Saturn retrograded back into Pisces, and Uranus in Gemini also went retrograde yesterday. These moments are felt collectively. Saturn in Pisces is making us work spiritually, and critically, since Saturn backed into the most anaretic degree of 29. Uranus has been disrupting and breaking open some degree of our chart and now we’re going to have to go think about it. What rumours, information, publications, curiosities, whispers, or communications have changed something about your life? Have you used the power of the word against someone else? Was it used against you?

Earlier today on September 7th we had a Pisces Full Moon–North Node Eclipse at 15 degrees, and the last time we had a Pisces Full Moon North Node eclipse was last September. Before that it was around 2007/ 2008. The flavor of this big world event doesn’t happen that often.

How did it feel? I felt heavy, sleepy, and very emotional. I am processing (and healing) a lot of grief that is sharp, and seems to come out in spurts. I feel the weight of many things coming forward as I feel called forward to serve...in some way... while life feels very difficult. How about you? Did you feel it coming? Did Piscean things start happening?

Keep in mind that eclipse portals are 2 week periods in which everything speeds up; unexpected and fated things happen that– in hindsight– change everything. This is likely a continuation of a story that maybe was in its infancy around 2007/2008, but now has matured by 18 years of life experience. I can tell you that I have an inkling of what this is about: for me. It’s not pretty, it’s not even remotely fun, but these are my lessons to move forward with. Pisces is a unifying and porous sign, it’s emotional. It’s the sign of endings, death, and letting go. The North Node says that if we let go, if we let this clear out, we have room for our karmic fate and future. If we want to meet our fate, we must let some things go. That’s how we begin the eclipse season this year.

Eclipses were feared by our ancestors, and they were revered. No one was putting their sunglasses on and trying to catch a glimpse of this alignment of the gods, they sheltered in place and prayed. Eclipses are rarely enjoyed but they are most often a catalyst bringing you closer to your fate. It might not appear this way, but something usually does appear, something that you couldn’t see before. Here are the timestamps:

The next big transit comes on September 11th.  Remember that the eclipse portal is in motion (like a time machine, that moves forward only) and while it ends on September 21st with the Virgo Solar Eclipse, the effects and reverberations will go until 6 months from now, when the next eclipse season picks up again. Endings and emotional work will continue, but the flavor of where and how this works will depend on your house placement.

On Thursday September 11th, Mercury, which is applying to conjunct the Sun– will conjunct the South Node in Virgo. Mercury rules Virgo, so it’s very at home in this sign and cognition and understanding is at an all time high. I notice my brain is firing well-- and I have the desire to lean into my Virgoan traits, like over-scheduling myself. With Mercury at the South Node we are looking at what we are decreasing, and there is a gaze or interaction that makes us look at what we are increasing: the Pisces sign of the coin. Pisces is spiritual, and in service of all. There is huge compassion in Pisces but also the ability to be a martyr. Virgo wants to be in service and has a humility to it, but Pisces is a dreamer and may unconsciously attract unsavory attention. If we are orientated to Pisces, we may be trying to figure out how we can be more compassionate, do more healing, or let things go. We may be realizing that rigidity and criticism aren’t the best way to show affection. Mercury is how we think and communicate, and Mercury here might need to figure out that it doesn’t matter how “right” it thinks it is, if it misses the whole emotional point.

The next day on Friday September 12th has a Virgo Sun sextile with Cancer Jupiter and this is some really nice juju of ease, luck and social grace. Jupiter bestows many blessings and the Sun in Virgo is conscious of what needs to be done, achieved and has the fortitude to actually achieve it. Jupiter is also making a trine to the North Node, as it did during the eclipse, bringing forth creative power, karmic moments, and a bigger vision for how to serve in the future.  To have such deep intelligence and practical knowledge working with a sense of deep compassion, nurturing and creativity is a bright spot in an uncomfortable month. This is good day to potentially connect with someone you care about and want to serve on a heart level

Saturday September 13th has Virgo Mercury cazimi the Sun, and this is usually a big moment cognitively for ideas, innovations, inventions, and projects. This is a genesis point for the brain, where the processing and the illumination come together as a big brain download. To harness this, be prepared to write down some ideas at any time, or dictate them into your phone like you’re Special Agent Dale Cooper solving a murder in a small logging town.

After the weekend, on Monday September 15th, things start to get interesting. First we have another nice transit, a sextile between Leo Venus and Libra Mars, where our expelled energy and action is working well with our values and connections. Where we are able to work with how we give and how we receive. As this lovely astro-weather develops-- so does a kite formation that’s been coming together for a while. Kites are shaped like a kite (doi) and they are aspects that bring us higher-better-faster-stronger. It’s a bunch of good astrology that is propelled by a big tension; in this case the tension between Mercury and the Sun in Virgo versus Pisces Saturn and Aries Neptune on the other side. Saturn and Neptune are close together and forming the rudder of the kite while involving Aquarius Pluto and Gemini Uranus in a minor triangle. There is this real focus on this tension between ourselves and our thoughts; versus our vision and its manifestations. We are being asked to think bigger, and vision more.

We might be trying to fly higher but our vision is weak, or our execution is tired. We might not see yet what the planets have in store for us, but we are caught up in the winds anyway.  Fact is, we are at the beginning of all this, and this month is really going to be a page turner. We have unexpected lessons to learn-- and mistakes to make. We're human after all!

With eclipse portals you can’t really predict what happens, unless you’re getting into world politics. (spoiler alert- Eclipses come with downfalls and big changes of power in the political landscape.)

The best plan is to shelter in place and follow your best path. You are being moved like a chess piece, and the more you resist, the harder this gets. We're going to evolve despite ourselves.

Stay strong, stay kind:
