Astrology Transits May 11th-18th: It’s Definitely a Hermit Year.

Going towards the light.
Keep going.

Hey friends, how’s it going? Has the plot thickened?

I’ve had some pretty substantial twists and turns to contend with, personally, which is par for the course. Many of you contact me with questions:

What’s up with this astrology?

Why is everyone angry?

Can you tell me why I am so lost?

WTF is going on in the sky?

Honestly: energetically, I have been KO’d. The change of frequency that we are all under– it hits me hard, and the fixed energy we’ve been in has really OWNED me. That’s actually the reason I came to astrology in the first place, because I needed help and guidance to make sense of the way I was experiencing the world.

Making sense helps keep me from collapse, or gives me hope, or propels me in what Carl Jung would call the individuation process. If you understand your mission on earth, and take responsibility for it, you are more likely to live your life on a different frequency. It becomes richer, deeper, more loving, but also: much, much more difficult.

But even astrologers hit a point of WTF sky gods? WHY?

I honestly don’t know what I’m doing or why I’m doing it anymore. Did I mention that 2025 is a Hermit year if we are talking about the tarot? After my previous year of what seemed like forced isolation, I now find myself wholly avoiding humans; on purpose now. Which is pretty easy to maintain if you’re already alone a lot. But the invitation is clear: the guidance I am getting now– maybe for a long time now– is to stay out of the fray. Stay onward and inward. I am following some semblance of a path in the darkness, with barely a lantern of light ahead of me. It’s definitely a Hermit year.

Like so many of you that have written to me/ text me/ emailed. This is a universal contraction we are in together, and yet apart.

Collectively, we are all on this ride together, and there are many paths and roads to get to your mission, with or without astrology. If I can evangelize anything about what I’ve learned through my spiritual work with astrology and tarot, it’s about learning to trust your own wisdom, and your own soul. YOU are the healer within, and you have divine wisdom to tap into. Whatever helps you get there is the right avenue to get there. In finding that soul and wisdom, there will be a lot of trauma, coping mechanisms, and domestication to sort through. Sometimes it’s hard to know what inner voice we should be listening to.

We get trapped in fear, ego, and righteousness. We delude ourselves to hold onto our narratives that suit us best. We form or attach to relationships with people who perpetuate those narratives, and repeat them, again and again.

Since 2020, we have been asked to start changing those narratives and been asked to level up– collectively and personally. Our cruise ship went into the Bermuda Triangle, and we haven’t come back out yet. The transcendental planets– Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus– all change signs this year (two already have) and that is a BIG energy shift. The eclipse nodes have changed signs, and that is a pretty big emotional shift also.

This month Saturn will change signs after being in Pisces for around 2.5 years. Its final exit will be in 2026 because of retrogrades. Saturn is known as the Lord of Karma, Time, and Boundaries. It will ingress into Aries this month to begin a new 27-29.5 year cycle.

Jupiter will also change signs– in early June. It will ingress in Cancer, a sign it does very well in.  It changes signs once a year as well, and Jupiter is known for Luck, Belief and Faith. There are many forces beyond our control changing the frequency of life as we know it. Many of us are tired, overwhelmed, afraid, uncertain, and lost.

This is a very human experience that is uniting us.

I haven’t written in a couple weeks, but we are still in Taurus season, Mercury just joined the Sun in the sign of the bull. Venus is in Aries, and Pluto went retrograde in Aquarius. Mars has recovered his speed and is out of his retrograde shadow in Leo. With that, we’re fairly caught up now.

On Monday May 12th we have  an incredibly intense full Moon in Scorpio at 22 degrees. Keep in mind, those of us in PST might feel this stronger on the 11th.  Full Moons are oppositions between the Sun and the Moon and in this one the Sun is conjunct to Uranus, which means surprises and unexpected insights will abound. There’s some beneficial energy coming from Saturn and the North Node for all these players, giving us a sense of what and who we are committed to, and how that will carry into our future fate.

Moon doesn’t do so hot in Scorpio, however; and Scorpio is a sign of transformation, fixation, and obsession. Scorpio Moon can manifest as physical pain flare ups, and a strike-now as questions later impulse. Scorpio is secretive, and deeply aware, and with Moon being so linked to our emotions and nervous systems, we can expect some emotional spillage during this full Moon buildup and culmination.

On this same day Taurus Mercury will square Pluto in Aquarius and we might find ourselves contending with some inner demons. Our thoughts, focus, and general understanding of what’s going on will have inner consequences, and likely we might be deadline with social and relationship fears. This period of time, overall, may not bring out our best self, but it may provide some exposure to some dearly needed healing in relationship or individually.

On Thursday May 15th Venus will clear her pre-retrograde shadow, which means we see the final conclusion on a lesson that began March 1st of this year. This lesson will be related to your own self in relationship, your values, and your connections. There’s something about your identity in this, but also your spiritual and most compassionate approach. What were you able to hold on to? What illusions were shattered? Venus did conjunctions with the North Node, Saturn, and Neptune during this period, so there was a call for us to be more committed, responsible, and compassionate. For many of us, we had to take some hard looks in the mirror about what we project onto others. What did you learn about your financial and relational self during this journey? What was reborn?

On Saturday May 17th Sun will conjunct Uranus in Taurus. This, for most of us, will be the last conjunction of these two planets in Taurus in our lifetime. When Sun conjuncts Uranus, it often brings something to light that you can’t unsee, unknow, or erase. The flash of insight that you receive during this transit is definitely something to pay attention to. It’s a message from the gods, and it wants you to course-correct. Whatever you are asked to sever, change, or move through; know that however painful, unwanted, or undesirable it may be, it’s for you. And it might not be a doom and gloom lesson, Uranus gives us beautiful surprises too, it’s really a roulette spin.

This divine insight will carry a Taurean flavor, so you may want to look at the house of your chart that is ruled by Taurus to find out where in your life this might hit you. Taurus gets into our financials, security, and sense of comfort. It also gets into our food systems. You can also think back to what happened on May 13th 2024 for insight as to what thread you are on.

Also on the 17th Mercury, in Taurus .will square with Mars in Leo. Mars in Leo speaks to our heart, our desire to lead, and our need to initiate. This Mars wants to be seen, and Mercury in Taurus is slower, deliberate, and at times, stubborn. Something between our desires, and our understanding and communication will be at odds, and might make this Sun-Uranus business a bit more crunchy. There is a lot of fixed energy today which is the energetic equivalent of putting your foot on the gas with your e-brake on. Mars is full of fire, but Taurus’s dense earth can hold that fire, or snuff it out.

On Sunday May 18th, we end the week with a stunning T square with Gemini Jupiter at the apex between the South Node in Virgo and the North Node in Pisces. We are looking at what we believe to be true and what we have faith in, socially, and in the grand duality of dark and light. This T square will have us having to likely pick a side or direction, and there is a strong decrease to the worldly, compartmentalized, Virgo Node. There is an uptick in the spiritual and visionary Pisces Node, that also speaks to endings. But all of this will affect our belief, faith and optimism. What we are seeing socially, and in our local groups may cause us to lose faith, or maintain it. It may change our stance, or make it really hard to stay “neutral.” This Jupiter may find itself having to follow its truth, or be out of integrity of its own growth. We all are finding ourselves in this position. Despite the curious and engaged side of ourselves that holds Gemini, hopefully we lead with the part of ourselves that contains or vision for a better world, instead of a reactive one.

Full Moon blessings, and much love to all
